Salmon out as public saves Nolan
Coleen Nolan has yet again been rescued by the voting public as Zoe Salmon gave her last performance for Dancing On Ice.
Coleen presenter of the ITV1 show loose women was backed by the viewers, winning the semi-final place despite being placed last with the shows judges.
That left Jessica Taylor, ex Liberty X performer and Zoe Salmon, former Blue Peter presenter in the skate off, which resulted in Jessica being saved for another week by four out of five of the judges
The former Blue Peter presenter that she’d “had a ball” and also said: “Bring on the tour because I can’t bear the void in my life.”
Zoe who last week had survived the skate-off, said “she had found something that I love” even though she suffered from an attack of nerves so serve the she was seen breaking down in tears during dress rehearsal on Sunday night.
Zoe, who skated to Run with her partner Matt Evers, said “the series had been a rollercoaster of emotions”.
Coleen and her skating partner Stuart Widdall performed to Diamonds are forever but where excused from doing the required unassisted jump as Coleen was injured during the week, she attended hospital to be X-rayed and after being cleared by Dancing on ice’s physio she said “I don’t want to give up”
Dancing on ice judge Robin Cousins said it was the “best performance you’ve given in the competition so far”, but then added: “It doesn’t come close to the others but that’s not the point.”
Skates are on to secure Ice facility
Plans moved a step closer in Selby to building an ice skating rink after a meeting that was held with a Selby councillor and a rink operator leader took place last week
Leader of Selby district Council Mark Crane travelled to an existing rink owed by national operator Planet Ice to meet with representatives to talk about the possibility of a development in Selby.
Councillor Crane stressed that negotiations are ongoing but that after the meeting he was “quietly optimistic”
Councillor Crane also said: “I want to go quietly and softly on this at the moment. An announcement could be made in about four to six weeks.”
Mike Petrouis who is the managing director of Planet Ice said last October that he wanted to open an ice rink in Yorkshire, and that two sites where being taken into consideration in Selby.
Councillor Crane said “any new development would bring employment, new people to the area and help boost trade in restaurants and shops”.
Emmerdale star skates for final time
Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett is the latest star to be voted off the reality show Dancing On Ice. Roxanne is 26 years old and plays the part of Jo Sugden in the popular soap Emmerdale but lost out after the skate off to BBC’s Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon
Roxanne was in the bottom two with Zoe despite being second on the leader board and receiving full marks from judge Ruthie Hensall.
Miss Pallett said “It’s been such a treat, an amazing experience, I can’t believe I made it this far”after her and her dance partner Daniel Whiston went out onto the ice for their last performance together.
TV presenter Colleen Nolan, journalist Donal MacIntyre and singer Jessica Taylor are the other three contestants remaining with Zoe Salmon who are trying to beat the current favourite Ray Quinn who is a former X Factor contestant, Ray was chosen by former dancing on ice star Kyran Bracken as the one to beat in this the fourth series of the ITV1 show.
